Lu, a mother and doting grandmother, is finally combining all the loves of her life – working with a true friend, bringing her joy of cooking and baking into her business life and exercising her skills as an educator to help consumers make healthier food choices.
Lu’s career in the natural products industry began with a distributor for a line of homeopathic products imported from England known as Bach Flower Remedies. For this start up company she wore many hats and was hands on in every department, including sales, marketing, package design, inventory management and even bookkeeping. When the company finally opened their offices in the US, she created and spearheaded their educational programs. These programs are still the corner stone of the international professional and consumer training curriculum that is today, operational in 35 countries around the world.
After Bach, Lu decided to join Glenn Foods. She wanted to experience the natural food industry from the food side because of her love of cooking and baking. She was Manager there before Linda joined the company. They worked so well together that they formed a lifetime friendship and talked often about launching a brand of healthy snacks.
It was another five years before that dream finally became a reality. In that time Lu joined the Good Groceries Company (Suzie’s brand of snack foods) as Manager. In her tenure there she helped the company grow from a small specialty line to a multi-million dollar brand of over fifty products in multiple retail channels.
Timing is everything in life and when the opportunity came to work with Linda again she jumped at it. It was truly a dream come true.
